The Sydney Adventist Hospital, Mepilex Heel evaluation was initiated in order to find the most suitable dressing for pressure injury prevention of the heel. The evaluation compared the current dressing used, a hydrocolloid and Mepilex heel in 20 patients over a period of 1 week. Patients were enrolled in the study in emergency and then followed to the ward. All 20 patients preferred Mepilex heel in the following criteria’s- Ease of application, conformability to the heel, patient comfort and dressing removal/change. All 20 said they would use it again.
