Stewart Hagan has been involved in the industrial minerals industry for over 30 years. He is the General Manager at mineral sands developer Oresome Australia.
Stewart will deliver a presentation at the AJM Mineral Sands Conference, to be held on the 4th-5th March 2014 in Melbourne. He will give an update on the Cape York Mineral Sands Project in North Queensland. This will include an overview on Urquhart Point project located 5km south-west of Weipa.
Employed by David Mitchell Limited and trained in all aspects of lime manufacturing, marketing and distribution, Stewart worked from many of DML’s operations including Loongana, Woodstock, and Lillydale. In 2001 Stewart formed Phoenix Lime Pty Ltd, and manufactured quicklime and limestone products at the Ootann Limeworks 135km S.W. of Cairns in North Queensland. Phoenix Lime Pty Ltd is now 100% owned by Metallica Minerals and Stewart manages Metallica’s Industrial Minerals operations which includes Oresome Australia Pty Ltd.
Stewart is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.
The 2-day Mineral Sands conference will focus on updates from current projects, mine expansion plans and case studies on current topical issues for the Mineral Sands industry in Australia and from around the world. Topics for inclusion in the 2014 agenda include; industry outlook, processing trends, logistics and export, approvals of Mineral Sands mining projects, environmental rehabilitation, mineral sands exploration, new technologies and regional updates.
