New Zealand’s transport sector is preparing for a period of rapid technological change as it strives to achieve sustainable and inclusive growth and provide better connectivity throughout the country.
The NZ Rail Conference 2018 – 14-15 June in Auckland – aims to help rail operators get a foothold on this change, curating and showcasing some of the best rail technology products from across Australasia.
This year we are delighted to feature first-time exhibitors, Harrybilt; a well-established Australian brand who are beginning their foray into the NZ market.
Harrybilt, what made you want to get involved in this year’s event?
At Harrybilt Engineering, the majority of our products are sold within Australian borders. However, in recent times we have been wanting to expand beyond this. We think this event is the perfect opportunity for us to get our name out in New Zealand and show how our products can be beneficial to businesses in the Rail Industry. We are excited to see who we will meet as we enjoy working with Rail Customers and forging new working relationships.
Your company designs and manufacturers rail equipment to suit specific customer needs. How do you go about identifying those needs?
By listening to customer feedback, we are fortunate that our customers come to us to help support their needs and make the process quicker and easier. With this we are always improving our products and increasing our product range to keep pace in this specialised industry.
What key customer challenges has your firm been responding to lately? How?
We have been working with a few of our customers on improving the safety aspect of Rail Maintenance, this is making our Road Rail Vehicle Conversions smarter through Slew, Height and Load Management System installs, along with Rail System positioning and improved System Lighting. Also our various Rail Attachments are designed to minimise rail crews required within the machine working zone.
