In the lead up to the CCF National Conference 2014, taking place on the 24th and 25th October in Adelaide, Michael Carter, National Sales Manager at Navman Wireless joined us to discuss the challenges in achieving operational efficiency, and how successful asset management through technology can help.

Michael:

“One of the biggest challenges for businesses to achieve operational efficiency is to accurately identify the issues that need addressing, and pinpoint those that will give your business the best return.

For businesses with a fleet of vehicles or mobile assets, the first requirement is obtaining quality data with applicable reporting. With this data in hand, you can focus on the issues in operational efficiency which will have the biggest impact.

Successful asset management method should allow for asset data to be captured in real time, and have it presented in an easy to understand reporting format.

The accuracy and reliability of the data has improved over time with technological advancement. The feature set and reporting suite are far broader – meeting more business needs as a result, and a variety of hardware fit for purpose –  IP67 rated, self-powered, increased connectivity via satcomms.”

Speaking at the upcoming CCF National Conference on the topic Driving operational efficiency with asset management, Michael will focus on the challenges in business today around both legislation (OHS, FBT) and driving profitability – How do we manage legislative pressures and become more profitable at the same.

Fleet/mobiles assets are the third biggest cost in business and represent one of the biggest risk factors,” says Michael, who will work through an independent study and explore how telematics, like Navman Wireless, can help.
