Mr. Chandra Shekhar Singh is Business Head of JSPL Mozambique Minerais LDA, the business that is spearheading Jindal Africa`s interests in this southern African nation. The Planned 10 MPTAcoal mine in Chirodzi, in Tete Province is the first project in the country, although ancillary projects including a power plant and associated logistics will be developed under Mr. Singh`s leadership.
Mr. Singh is a multidimensional professional Mining Engineer from ISM Dhanbad, India. He brings with him more than 21 Years diversified experience in strategic planning, mineral resource development, project planning, project execution and management, operations, production planning, and logistics, and prior to this project, Mr. Singh was Country Head of Jindal Mauritania.
Before joining Jindal Group, Mr. Singh was associated with leading corporate houses such as Aditya Birla Groups, Ispat Groups as well as Goa Mining industries such as Dempo`s and Chowgule and having expertise in technical due diligence, resource and reserve estimation, mine design, planning and scheduling, pit optimisation, tendering and mine contracting, feasibility studies, mineral resource development and preliminary investigation of Greenfield mineral deposits, manpower and overall management project.
He has in-depth understanding and knowledge of mining in ferrous as well as non ferrous metal mines which includes iron ore, bauxite, rock phosphate, manganese and coal, and hands-on experience in planning and implementing, mining production, operations and dispatch activities as well as exposure of working in noteworthy projects.
Mr. Singh will be giving the keynote address on “Developing the Chirodzi coal mine” at the upcoming Mozambique Coal 2015 Conference on the 27-28 July in Maputo.
