On behalf of the AusRAIL PLUS 2015 Papers Committee, I’d like to thank all those who submitted an abstract to be considered for inclusion as part of the technical streams at this year’s AusRAIL PLUS. We received over 130 excellent abstracts from authors in Australia, Austria, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong SAR, India, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Taiwan, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. A number of abstracts were co-authored, highlighting the growing collaboration both within regions and the rail industry supply chain as a whole.
The conference theme for 2015 is “Doing it smarter. People, power, performance” and the abstracts received addressed this theme from many directions. Topics focused on innovation in technology; developing capabilities and efficiciencies; investment and critical skills development in:
- Track
- Asset Management
- Rollingstock
- Signals/Communications
- Electrical
- Industry
- Trade/Export
- Management
- Operations
- Planning
- Project
- Infrastructure
As a collective, the authors campaigned the latest developments capitalising on opportunities to increase the industry’s competitive edge. The high quality, relevance and timeliness of the abstracts made the selection process quite difficult.
Congratulations to all the accepted authors and best of luck in preparing your first drafts for review by the Papers Committee! A reminder – your deadline is Friday 3rd July.
To those not selected, the Committee truly appreciates you making the submission and we hope to still see at in attendance in Melbourne this November!
Keep an eye out for the call for papers for the 2016 program which will be released during the 2015 event.
Can’t wait until then, then feel free to explore the opportunity for a sponsorsed seminar in the Exhibition with our Sponsorship & Exhibition Director, Deborah Bocock.
We look forward to officially announcing the Technical Stream Program in the coming weeks!
