Dr David Evans is the Director of Medical Services at the QE II Hospital in Brisbane. He is a specialist in medical administration and has academic qualifications in health administration, information technology and occupational health and safety. He has a 20 plus year involvement in Health Informatics and has contributed to the National EHR Taskforce, Health Connect, Queensland Health’s Enterprise Discharge Summary and Viewer projects, NEHTA and the PCEHR’s development.
He is an Australian Representative to the IHTSDO Quality Assurance Committee working on SNOMED CT, a Project Executive, Application Owner and Clinical Advisor with e-health in Queensland Health, a NEHTA Program Clinical Lead and co-chair of the Australian Classification and Terminology User Group. He is active within a variety of IT14 committees within Standards Australia.
Dr Evans is passionate about safe, effective information technology and secure, meaningful communication across the continuum of clinical care. Current interests are focused around knowledge management and clinical systems architecture.
