Theo Taifalos is Chief Executive of V/Line Pty Ltd, Australia’s largest regional public transport operator.
Mr Taifalos has extensive experience in the Australian energy and railway sectors, where he has demonstrated an unswerving commitment to customer service and safe operations.
At V/Line, he leads a dedicated team of nearly 1500 employees delivering services to approximately 15 million train and coach customers each year. The V/Line rail network comprises some 3400 kilometres of rail track and 85 stations and Mr Taifalos is excited to lead V/Line into an new era with the introduction of myki, the Regional Rail Link and the delivery of 40 new V/Locity carriages.
Prior to commencing with V/Line in May 2013, Mr Taifalos held the position of Chief Operating Officer of Queensland Rail, where he was responsible for day-to-day operations, overseeing the alignment and smooth running of integrated network and rail operations, customer service and project delivery. He has also provided specialist advisory services to Metro Trains Melbourne in formulating its customer strategy. As General Manager, Sustainable Development with Ergon Energy he was responsible for the development and commercialisation of a portfolio of renewable energy projects.
Mr Taifalos holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Master of Business Administration. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Management and is an Associate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
In 2011 Mr Taifalos was named the Chief Customer Officer of the Year for 2010/11 by the Customer Service Institute of Australia.
