Nokia Enterprise has been providing solutions to our Enterprise customers for over 15 years. With this success Nokia Enterprise was launched as a stand-alone business group in 2019.
Our mission is very clear.
“We serve as Industry 4.0 enablers through the digitisation of asset intensive industries, government and cities, and webscale businesses providing mission critical networks and digital automation solutions”.
Examples of asset intensive industries include Transport, Energy, Manufacturing and Logistics.
Since our inception we have delivered sustainable double-digit growth and we continue to do so today.
We have built mission critical networks for more than 13,000 customers worldwide.
We continue to lead the private wireless market with over 180 customer deployments globally and today Nokia serves more than 75% of the worlds LTE subscribers.
We have doubled down on our go to market significantly expanding our partner ecosystem whilst continuing to drive and deliver operational excellence.
Now let’s look at our presence and capabilities in Oceania.
Nokia has been a key provider of critical infrastructure solutions in the Enterprise Oceania market for well over a decade supporting some of the largest and most critical networks where network downtime is not an option.
Our focus includes rail, airports, ports, mining, oil, gas, power and water utilities, manufacturing, logistics, public safety and connected cities.
We have over 1,000 employees in this region and have focussed on building deep industry knowledge and experience to ensure we understand and deliver the key business outcomes critical to our customers success.
Rail is and continues to be a global priority for Nokia Enterprise and over many years we have built market leadership in the provision, support, and management of GSMR, LTE-R, and now 5G solutions.
We are actively involved in global standards bodies and a key focus of our solutions is alignment to these standards ensuring our technology can interoperate with other standards aligned solutions, and importantly meet all the security requirements defined by these standards.
We are continuing to invest heavily in Enterprise Oceania and are seen as one of the top 5 markets for Nokia Enterprise globally.
Transport Specific:
In line with the Nokia Bell Labs Future X architecture, the Nokia Transportation Segment delivers innovative solutions to Rail, Aviation, Ports, Highways and Logistics organisations.
These solutions address the communications, IoT and Cybersecurity needs of our transportation customers to support their mission-critical systems.
For the Rail Operator the Nokia Bell Labs Future X architecture meets growing data demands, improves safety and security, add new levels of automation, accelerates the digital transformation, streamlines O&M and take them on their journey to Industry 4.0.
Railway infrastructure is a critical component for a strong and sustainable economic environment.
At a global level, and driven by urbanisation, we have seen the resurgence of rail in recent years. As a result, metro rail operators are building more capacity, and in some cases extending their services to support 24/7 operation.
In recent years, the Australian Government has invested heavily in Rail via the National Rail Program with objectives to:
- Make Australian cities more liveable and efficient as they grow
- Reduce the burden on our roads
- Provide more reliable transport networks
- Support efforts to decentralise the economy and grow regional Australia.
Railway operators must continue to maintain the highest levels of safety, efficiency and punctuality as a top priority.
The new growth trends bring added pressure, while the three major customer challenges remain the same:
- Maintain the high safety standards
- Run on-time and efficient operations
- And improve the passenger experience
Advanced signaling systems such as ETCS L2 and ATO ensure safety but also allow the rail operator to maximise the use of the existing infrastructure and run more trains and services on their current tracks.
The introduction of IoT and Analytics also helps the Rail operator improve safety measures and realise significant cost savings to reduce TCO.
And deploying advanced high bandwidth wireless communications systems to provide passenger connectivity will enhance their travel experience.
The connectivity decisions the Rail operator makes today will affect their operations and business success for decades to come.
